Design

In a complete 180° from the ThinkPad series, the ThinkBook laptops come enveloped with aluminum, with a two-tone finish on the lid and a brushed look around the whole notebook. In typical Lenovo fashion, branding has been kept to the minimum, with only small Lenovo and ThinkBook wordmarks on the lid and base. The two devices are a bit different, mainly in the sense that the larger one comes with a NumPad which is very useful for accounting and if you work with numbers.

Display

Both laptops have a base configuration that offers a Full HD TN panel with a max brightness of 250 nits and a 500:1 contrast ratio. After it, you can upgrade to a Full HD IPS panel with a 1200:1 contrast ratio and a max brightness of 300 nits. It also fully covers the sRGB color gamut, which is useful for designers.

Specifications and features

Hardware-wise, there isn’t a speck of difference between the two devices, as both of them use three Ryzen 5000U-series CPUs, starting from a Ryzen 3 and going as high as a Ryzen 7. For graphics, there are only integrated options, with the Vega 6, Vega 7, and Vega 8, depending on your CPU choice. With the CPUs being part of the Ryzen Pro family, you can expect increased performance from both the graphics and the processor.

In terms of features, the laptops come well equipped, with the I/O sporting two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, two USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There’s also an optional FHD webcam, and a keyboard backlight.
