Design

The Chromebook is made entirely from plastic, but since it’s part of the ThinkPad family, we’re sure that durability won’t be an issue, as Lenovo makes sure even their plastic devices are relatively sturdy. For colors, you’ve only got the Abyss Blue option, which looks quite good. The laptop itself has a clean design that resembles other ThinkPads. While Lenovo laptops are usually lightly branded, the C14 has the Chromebook, ThinkPad, and Lenovo logos all on the lid. Still, it all looks tasteful. In terms of dimensions, the machine stops the scales at 1.56 kg and has a profile of 19.83 mm.

Display

There are two display options available, both with a Full HD resolution and an IPS panel. One of them has touchscreen capability, while the other doesn’t. The one with touch support also has higher brightness of 300 nits, with the latter having only 250 nits. Both panels have a decent, but not great contrast ratio of 800:1 and also don’t show good sRGB coverage, with about 50%.

Specifications and features

Specs-wise, the non-vPro model comes with the Core i3-1212U and the Core i5-1235U, with 6 and 10 cores, respectively. The vPro model comes with the Core i5-1245U or the Core i7-1265U, each with 10 cores and 12 threads. All in all, the vPro chips bring higher performance, as well as more powerful integrated graphics. The I/O of the C14 consists of two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, two USB Type-C 4.0 ports, which are upgraded to Thunderbolt 4 on the vPro variant, an HDMI 2.0 port, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. A SmartCard reader and a SIM card slot come as optional.
