[Specs, Info, and Prices] Acer Swift X (SFX14-41G) – Zen 3 and RTX 3000 inside a laptop under two centimeters

Acer seems to be making a comeback. First, they update their Nitro budget gaming laptops, then they unveil the Aspire Vero, which wants to change the way laptops are manufactured.

Now, then present a brand new device, which hasn’t been seen before. It’s called the Swift X and it packs powerful AMD and NVIDIA hardware in a decently portable chassis that is every bit as premium. Let’s see what it brings in detail and if it can e your new device.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Acer Swift X (SFX14-41G).

The Acer Swift X (SFX14-41G) is available now with a starting price of $900.

Acer Swift X (SFX14-41G): Full Specs

Design

The laptop comes in a premium metal body, which seems to be made from a single block of metal, or at least we interpret Acer’s words in that way. You get a total of three colors to choose from, including black, gold, and rose gold. The interesting part is that only the color of the lid changes, with the rest of the body staying with the same grey color on all models. This is definitely a bold move, but we appreciate the effort to introduce color blocking in the laptop space. The laptop is very portable, weighing only 1.39 kg while being 17.9 mm tall. You can easily carry it everywhere, without a lot of strain on your body.

Display

To make things simple, Acer offers only one display option, but it is really good. It has a 14-inch diagonal and a Full HD resolution. The display uses an IPS panel and offers a maximum brightness of 300 nits.  It also has thin bezels all around, with an 85.73% screen-to-body ratio. As this device is marketed towards creators, the display has 100% sRGB converge.

Specifications and features

Lastly, the specs also don’t give you a lot of wiggle room, but they also are very good. You get to choose between two Ryzen 7 chips, the Ryzen 7 5700U and the 5800U. If it were up to us, we would go with the latter, since it actually uses the Zen 3 architecture. The 5700U is just a rebranded 4800U, with a slight boost clock speed increase. However, it is still a really good processor, being able to go even or win against the competition from Intel, such as the Core i7-1165G7.

In terms of graphics, you get the RTX 3050 Ti (Laptop), which we are nervously awaiting to receive, to test it ourselves and check out its performance. According to Acer, the laptop has a 59Wh battery, which should last up to 17 hours, but we would still take these numbers with a grain of salt. It also brings some major cooling improvements, with Acer choosing thinner fans with blades that are just 0.3 mm thin.
