[Specs, Info, and Prices] Lenovo ThinkBook 13x Gen 2 – compact and full of power

We are amazed by the success and development that the ThinkBook lineup from Lenovo has had. To create a new brand from scratch is a tall order for any manufacturer, but Lenovo took the challenge and ran with it.

Three years later, we have some of the best notebooks when it comes to durability, features, and performance. They are ideal for content creators, bringing great displays for art, color-grading, etc. Today we have the tiny ThinkBook 13x Gen 2, which refreshes the Gen 1 laptop with new hardware from Intel.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x Gen 2.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x Gen 2 will be available in April with a starting price of $1,099.

Lenovo ThinkBook 13x Gen 2: Full Specs

Design

The laptop still uses the same body from last year, with aluminum for the lid and a magnesium/aluminum alloy for the base and bottom panels. The surface is sandblasted, giving it a smooth finish that still feels natural to the touch. The sharp edges and the aggressive front give the notebook a lot of character. The corners are rounded of course, and the lid has a two-tone finish, which also houses a glossy ThinkBook logo. In terms of weight and height, the device stops the scales at 1.21 kg and has a profile of only 12.9 mm.

Display

In terms of displays, we only get a single option, but we don’t mind it because it sounds fantastic. It looks to be the same panel from last year, with a 13.3-inch diagonal, QHD+ resolution, a 400 nit max brightness, 1200:1 contrast ratio, and 100% sRGB coverage, with the display coming with optional touch support as well. Provided that the accuracy of the colors is good, this laptop can 100% be used for creative work, such as graphic design and digital art.

Specifications and features

In terms of hardware, you get Intel’s 12th Gen Hybrid Alder Lake CPUs, with this laptop specifically being equipped with the P-series, which have a TDP of up to 28W. This is the middle ground between the super power-efficient U-series and the high-performing H-series. The base model comes with the Core i5-1240P, while the Core i7-1270P is also available. Both processors have 12 cores and 16 threads and an Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU, with 80 Execution Units for the Core i5 and 96 Execution Units for the Core i7. Both versions should perform well in daily tasks and a tad of gaming with games like Rocket League, Valorant, CS:GO, and more.

One area where the laptop might falter, is with its I/O, with there being only two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
