[Specs, Info and Prices] List of all laptops with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (Updated: January 2023)

It seems that 2023 will be a very interesting year for enthusiasts. The laptops with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 are (almost) already here and it looks like gaming on a 4K display with a laptop is possible. Of course, this GPU is able to show a massive amount of FPS on lower resolutions for people who like a high-FPS experience no matter the title, or for gamers who like fast-paced online shooters.

The Max-Q branding is already dead and now most manufacturers are listing the TGP of every “green” notebook. As always, even a powerhouse like the GeForce RTX 4090 will be available in a “low-power” version with a TGP around the 100W mark and the most expensive beasts can rely on up to 200W power limit and that sounds insane in a good way. As you can see, we’ve made a list that includes all the laptops that come with the new RTX 4090.

Below we have the laptop grouped by manufacturer, with updates coming frequently, any time when a new device gets announced or hits the market.

Contents

AORUS 17X (2023)

It seems that the AORUS 17X (2023) is a true competitor to the high-end laptops from other manufacturers on the market when it comes to RTX 4000 GPUs. Yes, this fella can be configured with Intel Core i9-13950HX, Core i9-13900HX, and Core i7-13700HX. The three CPU choices make this notebook a more versatile option when it comes to end price because users can pick this device with a Core i7. The combination of a 2.18mm profile thickness and the 175W version of GeForce RTX 4090 looks like a real challenge for the cooling solution but we’ll see the end result in the future.

The display is a 17.3″ 16:9 panel with a 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. There are two SODIMMs compatible with DDR5-5600 (i9-based devices) and DDR5-4800 (i7-based devices) and two M.2 slots are available for storage (compatible with Gen 4.0×4 NVMe drives). The keyboard is a per-key RGB model that supports the per-key macro function. All configurations are equipped with a 99Wh battery and a huge 330W power adapter.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 (G834, 2023)

The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 (G834, 2023) seems like a wet dream for true gamers. Yes, we got a big 18-inch panel with a 16:10 ratio and 1600p resolution. The anti-glare unit also features a 240Hz refresh rate and G-Sync support. For maximum possible FPS in any scenario, there is a MUX switch so you don’t have to connect an external display if you want to squeeze the best performance of your device.

The other specs of the laptop look impressive as well – Intel Core i9-13980HX and the most powerful and expensive configurations feature the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (Laptop, 175W). The battery is a 90Wh unit and the power adapter is a 330W model. As most ROG Strix laptops, this one can glow like a Christmas tree because of the chiclet keyboard with per-key illumination and the small Aura Sync “army” that includes Aura Sync Rear Glow, Aura Sync Light Bar, and Aura Sync logo.

The max possible RAM configuration is 64GB DDR5 (2 SODIMMs) and two M.2 PCIe Gen. 4 slots are available for storage (supporting RAID 0 mode as well).

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (GX650, 2023)

For wealthy creators, ASUS is offering the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (GX650, 2023) and just like its predecessors, this one comes with two screens for enhanced productivity. The main panel is a Mini LED 16″ 1600p unit with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 ratio. The second display is a 14.1″ 4K touchscreen with stylus support. Not only creators, but gamers and regular users can also take advantage of the second panel in some titles and programs.

The CPU and GPU department looks impressive too – AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX (a 16-core beast with 32 threads) and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (Laptop, 165W). This, combined with the display duo, shows great gaming potential. There are two RAM slots for up to 64GB DDR5 and two M.2 slots that support Gen 4 drives and RAID 0. The touchpad doubles as a NumberPad and the keyboard has a per-key RGB implementation. That’s a high-end device so the 90Wh battery and the 280W power adapter sound like a logical solution.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023)

For users who always buy balanced tech, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023) is a good combination of a reasonable price for a gaming laptop and good hardware under the bonnet. The notebook relies on a powerful Intel Core i9-13900H and the best GPU variant is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (Laptop, 145W).

The display can be used for (almost) whatever you want because it’s a 16-inch 16:10 1600p Mini LED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. Gamers should be happy because of the MUX switch and the G-Sync support. Two SODDIMs can take up to 64GB DDR5 and for storage, there is a single M.2 slot compatible with Gen. 4 devices. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (GA402, 2023)

The 2023 version of GA402 is continuing the legacy of previous-gen devices – a compact laptop that packs tons of power. This small machine is no joke, depending on the configuration, the profile thickness is around 1.95 (1.85) ~ 2.05 (1.95) cm while great hardware is hidden under the bonnet. You can choose between AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS and AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS. The most powerful GPU option is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (Laptop, 125W). For a thin device, these specs sound juicy.

The compact 14-inch screen is ready for games and (almost) any kind of work – it has a 1600p resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, G-Sync support, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and the MUX switch is here as well. The maximum possible memory configuration is 32GB DDR5 in dual-channel mode and there is a single M.2 slot for storage compatible with Gen. 4 NVMe drives. For such a thing gaming laptop, the 76Wh battery seems big enough and the power adapter is a 240W model. Expectedly, the keyboard has a backlight and extras like Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are part of the default package.

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16″ Intel, 2023)

Lenovo is trying to tempt future buyers with its Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16″ Intel, 2023). The CPU options include Intel Core i9-13900HX and Core i7-13700HX and the 175W GeForce RTX 4090 is the top graphics variant. The vapor-chamber cooling solution cools both CPU and GPU chips and it’s called ColdFront 5.0. The maximum possible memory configuration is 32GB of DDR5-6000 (2x 16GB – two SODIMMs) and these kinds of memory frequencies are insanely high for a laptop. For storage are available two M.2 slots compatible with Gen. 4 drives.

The display is a 16-inch IPS variant with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 1600p resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, G-Sync support, and yes, there is a MUX switch too. The keyboard is a per-key RGB unit with an anti-ghosting function. The battery is a big 99.99Wh model and Lenovo claims that with the Super Rapid Charge, it can be fully charged for just 60 minutes – we want to check that as soon as possible. The most powerful configurations are equipped with a 330W slim Gallium (GaN) power adapter while the other devices rely on a 300W version.

MSI Titan GT77 HX (13Vx)

One Titan rule them all, at least when it comes to MSI laptops. The new model looks great but the more interesting things are hidden under the hood. There, you can find 13th Gen Intel CPUs (up to Intel Core i9-13980HX) and the most powerful configurations boast the 175W version of the GeForce RTX 4090. Another star of the show is the 144Hz 17.3-inch MiniLED display with 4K resolution. There is a 1440p 240Hz variant as well.

The powerful hardware is complemented by gaming peripherals like the mechanical per-key gaming keyboard by SteelSeries and a big-size touchpad. For storage, the machine is equipped with two M.2 PCIe Gen. 4 slots and with one Gen. 5 slot that is compatible with the fastest NVMe drives. Expectedly, the devices come with a huge 99Wh battery and a monstrous 330W adapter. Last but not least, the laptop has 4 SODIMM slots that can handle up to 128GB of DDR5 memory.

MSI Raider GE78 HX (13Vx)

If the Titan GT77 HX is too much for your needs, the MSI Raider GE78 HX (13Vx) looks like a great alternative and it really is. You can choose among two display options – a 165Hz 1200p model and a 240Hz 1600p variant. The Raider iteration is no shy when it comes to specs – it can be configured with up to Intel Core i9-13980HX and the most powerful GPU is again the 175W GeForce RTX 4090.

Here, the SODIMMs are “just” two but it’s fine because the maximum possible amount of RAM is 64GB DDR5 – not bad at all. The storage department looks modern enough with one Gen. 5 and one Gen. 4 PCIe slot. The per-key RGB keyboard by SteelSeries is part of the package, and we like the presence of extras like a 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth v5.3. Yes, just like the bigger sibling, the top model is bundled with a 99Wh battery and a 330W power adapter.

MSI Stealth 17 Studio (A13Vx)

The MSI Stealth 17 Studio (A13Vx) is meant for people who like thin and powerful machines. The laptop can be picked with the 105W version of the GeForce RTX 4090 while the profile is 20.1~20.8 mm. The CPU options include the Intel Core i9-13900H and the Intel Core i7-13700H (or at least for now). Yes, on paper, this is a thin monstrosity.

You can choose between a plethora of display panels and the top-end variant is a 17.3″ 4K MiniLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. For the CS:GO and Call Of Duty fans, there is a 1080p 360Hz panel. The two SODIMMs can take up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and this laptop is lacking a fancy PCIe Gen. 5 compatible M.2 slot but the two Gen. 4s should be enough for most people. The notebook looks like a true gaming device because the RGB SteelSeries keyboard is on board as well. The great hardware is powered by a 99Wh battery and a 280W power adapter.

Ich suche ein leistungsfähiges Notebook möglichst mit 4090 GraKa und einem Touchscreen – ist da etwas zu erwarten (oder habe ich es übersehen) oder sollte ich mich von dem Gedanken trennen?
