The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme lightweight performance series – prices, specs, features and configurations

The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme is one of the company’s top-tier notebooks. It packs the latest and greatest powerful hardware inside a thin and light chassis making the notebook one the closest things to a mobile workstation.

You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: https://laptopmedia.com/series/lenovo-thinkpad-x1-extreme/

Starting with the internals, the ThinkPad X1 Extreme can be powered by up to a six-core/twelve-thread Core i7-8850H CPU which is an upgrade (2.6/4.3 GHz clock) the more popular Core i7-8750H which is also an option. AS for the GPU, you can stick with the integrated UHD Graphics 630 or opt for the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q with 4GB of GDDR5 memory – the same GPU found in the Dell XPS 15 9570.

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme offers up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2666 MHz which is quite an impressive amount. However, note that the RAM runs at 2400 MHz due to “Intel limitations”. For storage, you get two M.2 slots, one of which supports PCIe NVMe drives. The drives can be configured in RAID 0 or 1 allowing better performance or easy backups.

Display options include a Full HD or 4K IPS panels with the latter having a touchscreen version. There is also an 80Wh battery which can go up to 80% in one hour. All of this hardware is packed inside a 1.70 kg (3.7 lbs), 18.4 mm (0.72″) thin body with MIL-STD-810G military certification that promises flawless performance under extreme conditions.

The starting price of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme is $1859.00. Expect a detailed review soon.

A few worthy competitors are the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8RXHP ZBook Studio x360 G5, and Dell XPS 15 9570.
