AMD Ryzen 5 1600X six core CPU benchmarks and Ryzen 5 1300 specs

A few days back we got benchmarks results for AMD Ryzen R7 1700X which looked quite promising as the CPU was in the performance range of the Intel Core i7-6800K. Today as the launch date draws near we got our hands on benchmarks results for the Ryzen 5 1600X CPU.

The Ryzen 5 1600X is a mid-range CPU with six cores and twelve threads with a base clock os 3.3GHz which is achieved by a 100MHz bus clock and a multiplier of x34. The maximum boost frequency is 3.7GHz. The CPU has 16MB of L3 cache and 3MB of L2 cache.

The benchmarking was performed using CPU-Z version (v1.78.1 x64) which tests both single and multi-threaded performance. The clock speed that the Ryzen 5 1600X was running on was 3.56GHz (as we can see from the task manager in the image). This means that the processor is boosted but not to its full potential. Ryzen 5 1600X achieved a single-threaded score of 1888 and a multi-threaded score of 12544 points. For comparison, this falls into the category of the Intel Core i5-7600K. The chip is expected to retail for about $259.

The next benchmarks that were leaked were those of the Ryzen 5 1300 which is a quad-core CPU with eight threads thanks to the enabled SMT technology. The processor has a base clock speed of 3.2GHz which can be boosted to 3.4GHz. However, on the image, we see that it is clocked at 3.17GHz. There are 8MB of L3 cache available and 2MB of L2. Unfortunately, there are no benchmarks results for the Ryzen 5 1300 but we assume that it is similar in performance to the Intel Core i3-7100.
