HP ProBook 450 G4 with surprisingly longer battery life than its predecessor

If you haven’t read our review of the HP ProBook 450 G4, we suggest you do so now, especially if you are looking for a budget-friendly business solution. And although the changes aren’t so apparent compared to the previous ProBook 450 G3 version, all changes lie under the hood. One of the big changes in the newer model would be the increased battery performance.

Compared to last year’s ProBook, the 450 G4 brings new processor to the table and slightly increased battery capacity, which probably isn’t the main reason for the excellent battery runtimes. We are talking just 4Wh difference in battery capacity, so this leaves us with the super efficient Core i7-7500U to be the main suspect. Anyway, the ProBook 450 G4 scored 500 minutes (8 hours and 20 minutes) on our web browsing test while the video playback runtime was 400 minutes (6 hours and 40 minutes). These tests were run on the Full HD version of the laptop.

Still, this is a huge increase over the last generation since the last ProBook 450 G3 we’ve tested was with an HD (768p) display scoring 375 minutes (6 hours and 15 minutes) and 6 hours and 19 minutes during web browsing and video playback, respectively.
