HP’s new EliteBook are one of the first to adopt the new AMD PRO A-series CPUs (codenamed Carrizo APUs)
Shortly after the launch of the new Carrizo and Godavari APUs from AMD, HP was fast enough to chip in on those nifty little chips that offer cool business-oriented features that you won’t find in Intel’s latest CPU. However, this article isn’t about comparing the two CPU tech giants, but to introduce the new HP lineup.
First of all, it’s important to mention that besides the HEVC support for Ultra HD video streaming and HSA 1.0, the new chips inside some of the EliteBooks feature 4G LTE support thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X5 LTE Advanced technology.
There are three new notebooks part of the EliteBook lineup – the EliteBook 725 G3, 745 G3, and the 755 G3 with the main difference being the screen size – 12.5″, 14.0″, and 15.6″ respectively. The basic configurations are again starting from 1366×768 and going up to 1080p and QHD (2560×1440) only for the 14-inch variant. The good news is that the notebooks feature SVA panel that’s a compromise between the IPS and TN technology making it energy efficient and boasts significantly better viewing experience. CPUs variants are raging from the lower end AMD PRO A8-8600B, AMD PRO A10-8700B, and AMD PRO A12-8800B all of them paired with 16GB of DDR3L RAM. Storage variants are also a lot and you can see them on the table below.
