Lenovo ThinkPad P52 – another workstation laptop with up to 128GB RAM

Lenovo has just unveiled its latest 15-inch mobile workstation – the ThinkPad P52 which is said to be capable of handling heavy workloads such as virtual reality content creation.

As Lenovo’s first 15-inch VR-ready workstation, it is crammed up with a good deal of power. Under its hood, ThinkPad P52 can be equipped with the latest 8th Gen Intel Xeon and Core processors backed up by up to 128GB of DDR4 memory. On the graphics side of things, up to an NVIDIA Quadro P3200 makes sure all heavy graphics loads are dealt with effortlessly. Additionally, you could opt for up to 6TB of storage. With that kind of hardware, the top-notch virtual-reality experience is guaranteed.

In terms of display, ThinkPad P52 comes in a couple of 15.6-inch configurations to choose from. For instance, there is a Full HD option that boasts 300 nits of brightness and a 72% color gamut coverage. You could also go up to a 4K touch display with 400 nits of brightness, as well as 100% Adobe RGB coverage. Other features worth mentioning are an IR camera and fingerprint reader in addition to TPM 2.0 and a webcam cover.

This workstation also got you covered when it comes to connectivity providing a decent variety of ports – 3x USB-A 3.1 ports, 2x USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 3), HDMI 2.0, SD and Smart Card readers, along with an Ethernet port and Kensington lock slot.

However, all of the power comes at the expense of portability – the Lenovo ThinkPad P52 measures at 14.86 x 9.93 x 0.96″, while its weight starts at 2.45 kg.

Lenovo hasn’t yet announced the price of its mobile workstation but it’s expected to be above $1,000.
