MSI GL73 – another updated 17-incher

And so, with the new week, we continue with another gaming series that has received a graphics update. We are talking about the 17-inch MSI GL73.

You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: https://laptopmedia.com/series/msi-gl73/

Yeah, it’s a similar situation to what we have already witnessed in other updated MSI notebooks – what is new are the latest NVIDIA graphics. CPU-wise, we are looking at an Intel Core i7-8750H or Intel Core i5-8300H. Both are quite capable and fall in the Top 10 in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking. As for the graphics cards, the new addition is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (Laptop). You can still find the notebook with the good old NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q (4GB GDDR5)NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5), and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4GB GDDR5).

Additionally, the current configurations come with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 4000GB SSD + up to 2000GB HDD of storage devices. That’s a pretty decent combo even for pretentious users. Moving on to the display, it is a 17.3-incher that has two panel options – a Full HD (1920 x 1080), TN one and a Full HD (1920 x 1080), 120 Hz, TN panel. It’s somewhat sad that neither of them is IPS but it is what it is.

Connectivity-wise, the set up is pretty standard – a single 1x USB Type-C 3.0 (3.1 Gen 1) port, three USB Type-A 3.0 (3.1 Gen 1)HDMILANDisplayport mini, and more. As a true MSI gaming notebook, this one features a backlit keyboard and special audio technology for an immersive experience.

And when it comes to the competition, this bad boy’s alternatives are MSI’s own GS75 StealthGT75 Titan 8Rx / 8Sx as well as the Alienware m17.
