NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 performs better than Radeon RX 480 (screenshots)

NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1060-Pascal-GP106-400After Radeon RX 480 was announced, it was time that NVIDIA presented their chip, direct competitor to the “red” GPU. Not long after that we have results from GeForce GTX 1060 from the 3DMark Firestrike and Firestrike Ultra benchmarks. There are also some rumors that tomorrow, 07.07.2016, NVIDIA will present its GP106 chip. Now that we see some results confirming that GeForce GTX 1060 is ready for mass production, it is very likely that tomorrow we shall witness the announcement of the third Pascal chip – we will make sure to closely monitor NVIDIA’s activity.

Anyway, let’s get back to the recently leaked tests. As it was already mentioned, the employed benchmark tests are Firestrike and Firestrike Ultra. In the less demanding test GP106 scored 13 215 points, while in 4K resolution it got only 2928 points. The results are quite close to those of of Radeon RX 480 and after overclocking the “red”GPU is the more powerful of the two – we are still unaware of GeForce GTX 1060’s overclocking capabilities. Since these results are so close to each other, it will be interesting to learn the price of the “green” graphics card as AMD managed to release this high performer for 200 dollars (4 GB model) and 230 dollars (8 GB). We expect to receive more information about GeForce GTX 1060 in the coming days.
