[Specs, Info, and Prices] Say hello to the newly updated Dell Presicion 15 3560 – a new offering that features the brand new Tiger-Lake U platform

Dell has been going around and updating their devices for 2021 with newer technologies. Along with that, they have tried to reconstruct their portfolio by adding and subtracting features from machines in order to further reform and clear their lineups. The Precision 15 3560 is an update to the Precision 15 3550 that Dell released back in May of 2020.

Featuring the new Tiger-Lake U platform along with a variety of display choices, let’s see what this new device has to offer you.

Today we will give you a quick look at this updated laptop, along with what’s new and what has stayed the same.

The Dell Precision 15 3560 will be available starting January 12 in the US for the starting price of 1,189$, but we are unsure what hardware you will get for that price.

Design

To start off with the exterior of the laptop, Dell has decided to switch up the design, which Dell states is made out of “reclaimed carbon fiber and bio-plastics”, but no further information is available as of this time. For the keyboard, Dell has chosen the Pro2 unit, which should improve the typing experience. However, this means that the laptop has also lost the nipple, which is a shame. Continuing on with the trackpad, this one is bigger than the previous one and is off-centered to the left. It has also lost the mouse buttons on the bottom.

Display choices

Continuing on with the screen choices, there are three available options to choose from. The entry configuration comes with a 15,6-inch 1366x768p TN panel, which we would advise against, since it’s 2021, and at least for us 1080p is a must. The mid-level screen is a 1080p IPS one and this is what most people will prioritize and if you decide to shell out some more cash you can get a 4K display that is for sure going to satisfy your needs for a crispy and colorful image.

Specifications

Going over to the specs, CPU wise, the device is available with four choices for processors. All of them are from the newest Tiger-Lake U platform, improving from last year’s Comet-Lake U. The entry-level model comes with the Core i5-1135G7 and can be specced up with up to the Core i7-1185G7. For the graphics card choices, most models will come with the integrated Iris Xe Graphics G7, which is a great performer and is among the best iGPUs right now. The most expensive configuration comes with the NVIDIA Quadro T500 discreet GPU.

While the Precision brand is obviously moving away from the business market, the device seems like a great option for designers and creative people, and with the available CPU and GPU options, performance will not be a problem what so ever.
