LG have always been among the most active companies at the CES events and this year is no exception as the South Korean manufacturer is ready to show the world its new offerings. The new LG K line was officially announced last night and it can be considered as the successor to the budget L line. The first two devices from the series are K10 and K7, both of which offer stylish design with rounded edges and slightly curved screens. LG’s goal is to create smartphones that appeal to the younger generation. There isn’t any information about their prices or release dates, but we expect them to be available in Q1 of 2016.
As for the specs sheet of the phones, K10 boasts slightly better hardware. The device has a 5.3-inch display with HD resolution, 2300 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The rest of the specs will vary depending on your region and version of the phone – LTE or 3G.
The LTE model will offer a 13MP rear camera while the 3G one has an 8MP rear shooter. Depending on the market you may also find a version with an 8MP or 5MP front-facing camera, 1GB, 1.5GB or 2GB of RAM, as well as 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. LG K10 will be available with four different SoCs. The first three being in the LTE version – quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2 or 1.3GHz, as well as an octa-core one, clocked at 1.14GHz. The 3G model will be available only with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. The phone will come in white, black and gold flavors.
LG K7 is K10’s smaller brethren as it features a 5-inch display with 480 x 854 resolution. The battery of the device is also smaller – 2125 mAh. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it will likely receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The front-facing shooter is 5MP.
Just as K10, K7 will be available in an LTE and 3G variants, each providing different capabilities. The specs sheet of the device will also vary, depending on your region. However, the SoC of the phone will most definitely have a quad-core CPU, clocked at either 1.1 or 1.3GHz. It will also have 1.5 or 1GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of storage while the 3G version of K7 will be available in white, black and gold, the LTE one will be offered only in “Titan”.
