ASUS ROG Flow Z13 Acronym review – robust and fashionable beast of a tablet

Gaming tablets are something one could hardly imagine. Since laptops are already space limited and can’t really offer a true desktop-like experience, how could any manufacturer pull off a gaming tablet?

Well, last year ASUS proved that this is feasible with its ROG Flow Z13 (GZ301). Now, the same architecture is back with the 2023 model, but you shouldn’t be fooled – we got something special for you.

It is the ASUS x Acronym collaboration (by the way Acronym is an apparel brand). A result of this outbreeding is a device that is like no other. Stylish hints of unusual design work are entangled with aggressive industrial-looking raw aluminum on the outside. But everything has a purpose – you’ll see later on.

So, what does this tiny beast bring to the table that others can’t? Well, first and foremost, beast hardware. We are talking about the Intel Core i9-13900H, and the NVIDIA RTX 4070. You should be warned that the latter has a 65W TGP, so it is not the most powerful iteration. However, this doesn’t make the machine any less impressive.

The fact is that even though this is a very space-limited product, it still has space for a MUX Switch. This will let the RTX 4070 directly drive the 2560 by 1600 165Hz IPS display. It’s not only good for gaming, but apparently, it is adept for content creation, as it comes with Pantone Validated Colors.

What’s in the box?

Since this is a special edition device, we can’t expect too little in terms of packaging. There, you will find a 130W charger, as well as a dedicated stylus with three spare tips with different “hardness”. However, the key asset inside are the straps that attach to the ROG Flow Z13 Acronym, which make the machine a true accessory – aggressive, yet elegant.

From 1st hand experience the z13 is rubbish build quality. Liquid metal cpu paste has leaked at 1 year needing motherboard replacement. Keyboard also broken only works when flat. Laptop does not sleep when cover closed as sensor is crap also
