[Comparison] NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) vs RTX 2080 SUPER (150W) – The RTX 3080 is 20% faster

GPU benchmarks

In 3DMark Fire Strike, the RTX 3080 performed better, and with a difference that was bigger than we expected. The new GPU had an 18% higher score than the RTX 2080 SUPER. In our second benchmark, Unigine Superposition, the RTX 3080 once again was faster and had a higher score, this time the difference being 22% for the RTX 3080.


Conclusion

We have to agree that the RTX 3000-series are pretty powerful graphics cards and today’s comparison proved that. The RTX 3080 was 18% faster in 3DMark Fire Strike and 22% faster in Unigine Superposition. If these are the scores for the normal 3080, we have to wonder how much more powerful will the 3080 SUPER be, if there ever will be one.
