[FPS Benchmarks] Metro Exodus on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (105W) and RTX 3060 (100W) – the RTX 3080 is 26% faster on Extreme quality
Still one of the heaviest titles on the market – this is Metro Exodus. A game that offers a thrilling gameplay experience, decent storyline, and great graphics. Unfortunately, you’re going to need a powerful device if you want to see the title in its full glory.
Yes, the Extreme preset is a hard cookie even for the most powerful Ampere GPUs. Most mid-rangers can deliver something around the 30 FPS mark in this scenario. For this article, we have prepared two good graphics solutions – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (105W) and RTX 3060 (100W). The TGPs are close so let’s check if the bigger GPU is worthy enough given its premium price tag.

Verdict
On Low, both GPUs are super close, while on High the bigger contender is 19% faster and on Extreme it extends its lead to 26% which is a decent performance bump. If you want to play this game with maxed-out visuals, the bigger GPU can offer more FPS which leads (in most cases) to smoother gameplay. On the other hand, the High settings come with a decent enough picture quality and way higher FPS values and that applies for both rivals. So, if you want to save some bucks, the GeForce RTX 3060 (100W) should be on your shortlist.
