Dell Inspiron 15 5578 (15-inch, FHD, IPS) display profiles – Quality and Health impact results
The Dell Inspiron 15 5578’s display isn’t the best out there but it’s good enough for general multimedia, browsing and office work. And it meets our expectations considering the asking price. Still, there are some issues that can be easily fixed with our profiles. The profile packages contain the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extent.
The Dell Inspiron 15 5578 has a Full HD IPS panel with 55% sRGB color gamut coverage, quite high contrast ratio (1200:1), relatively low for an IPS maximum brightness (240 cd/m2) and optimal color temperature – 6500K.
Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for the Dell Inspiron 15 5578 with 15.6″ panel manufactured by LG with model number LG156WF7 featuring FHD (1920×1080) resolution and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: Dell Inspiron 15 5578.

Office Work / Web Design
This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. The notebook’s screen isn’t suitable for color-sensitive work but it’s enough for good multimedia experience. Our profile, however, improves the color accuracy as much as possible.
We’ve also adjusted the gamma curve and white balance to fit the standards.
Gaming and Movie Nights
You can take advantage of the Gaming and Movie Nights profile, which will improve the overall visibility – especially in darker areas of the image – during gaming and watching movies (you can see an example here).
As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the blue light impact and eliminates the PWM. However, since the panel doesn’t use PWM from 55 cd/m2 and above, the Health-Guard profile will come in handy only for reducing the negative blue light emissions.
