Inside Acer Aspire 3 (A314-22) – disassembly and upgrade options

The Acer Aspire 3 (A314-22) is a budget offer but this small laptop has a lot to offer and it is not expensive at all.

1. Remove the bottom plate

Removing the bottom plate is easy – you have to unscrew 11 Phillips head screws and after that, you can pop the bottom panel with the aid of a plastic pry tool.

2. Battery

The battery is a small 37Wh unit but that seems normal for an affordable 14-inch laptop.

3. Memory and storage

When it comes to upgradability, we have one RAM SODIMM (and there is a 4GB soldered memory) and an M.2 slot for NVMe drives – not bad for such a budget device.

4. Cooling system

The cooling is rather basic – it relies on one fan, one heat sink, and a single heat pipe.
