Moto Z Play preview – 5.5″ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 625, 16MP camera and 3510mAh battery
Recent years have seen the success of a good number of Moto devices, some of which we have reviewed or at least talked about. Today we would like to acquaint you with the most affordable Moto Z representative – the Moto Z Play. You can also expect a detailed review of it coming soon.
If you happen to show interest in Moto Z Play, you can check its current price and availability here: http://amzn.to/2fHpm1o
8-core Snapdragon 625 and 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display
The model uses a Snapdragon 625 mobile processor which has eight Cortex-A53 cores ticking at up to 2.00 GHz. Together with it you get an Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM. All this should ensure high performance and smooth operation. Also available are 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded with a microSD card (up to 256GB).
Moto Z Play’s display is 5.5-inches in diagonal and its AMOLED panel brings high brightness and contrast levels as well as perfect viewing angles. Its resolution is Full HD which ensures high enough image detail. Additionally, its pixel density is around 403 ppi.
Moto Mods, 3510mAh battery and USB Type-C
Furthermore, the smartphone’s design is characterized by a metal frame and a glassy back. However, a special emphasis is put on the so called Moto Mods. These are additional modules which are attached to Moto Z Play’s back via strong magnet bumps. Thus they can improve the phone’s style or add new features uncommon to smartphones such as a projector or powerful JBL loudspeakers.
Also, the smartphone’s battery is 3510mAh and even though we don’t have information as to its durability, we expect long battery life. Charging, on the other hand, is performed via the available USB Type C port. Also present are a fingerprint scanner and dual SIM capability.
16MP camera and Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The main 16MP camera has autofocus, a dual LED flash, and an f/2.0 aperture. Additionally, the camera menu is pretty simplistic without too many modes. Nonetheless, image quality is really high and you can also record 4K video. The front-facing camera is 5MP and also comes with an LED flash.
Moto Z Play uses Android 6.0 Marshmallow but Motorola has confirmed an upcoming update to the 7.0 Nougat version. Also, you won’t be presented with an additional UI which means that the phone offers only the traditional Google apps and capabilities. This, however, allows even smoother operation.
