[Specs and Info] Acer ConceptD 3 Ezel (CC315-73G / Pro CC315-73P) – A mobile studio with all the bells and whistles

Acer’s ConceptD series isn’t as popular as it should be, considering that they do innovate and try new stuff. If you’re a designer, regardless of the thing you’re designing you can take advantage of the touch-enabled panel of the ConceptD 3 Ezel (CC315-73G / Pro CC315-73P), which folds in more than one way. While its hardware isn’t the latest and greatest, some of the other features that it has might be enough to convince you to splurge and treat yourself to a new workstation that’s portable and easy to move around.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Acer ConceptD 3 Ezel (CC315-73G / Pro CC315-73P).

Acer ConceptD 3 Ezel (CC315-73G / Pro CC315-73P): Full Specs

Design

Acer keeps the design and general look the same, with a white aluminum chassis. In addition to the standard hinge that opens the laptop, there’s another one in the middle of the lid, which splits it into two parts, so the panel itself can come further to you and cover parts of the keyboard. Another laptop with a similar feature is the Surface Laptop Studio from Microsoft. There’s also a ceramic coating over the entire surface which increases the longevity of the metal, adding oxidation and corrosion resistance. In terms of dimensions, the laptop weighs 2.20 kg and has a profile of 23.9 mm.

Display

There are two display options, with either an FHD or a 4K UHD IPS panel. The Full HD display has 100% sRGB coverage and a Pantone validation for accuracy, which supposedly lowers the dE value down to less than 2. Since the panel has touch support, it comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 cover, to protect it from scratches.

Specifications and features

The laptop is powered by the Core i7-11800H, an octa-core processor with hyperthreading. While it doesn’t have the newer hybrid architecture, the chip is still pretty powerful and can handle complex workloads with ease. There are two GPUs to pick from, the NVIDIA Quadro T1200 or the RTX 3050 Ti. Both come with Studio drivers, which are better optimized for Creator work and rendering. For cooling, Acer has a setup that doesn’t go above 40 dBA in terms of noise. From what we can see, it comes with two heat pipes and two fans. Fresh air is siphoned through a grill above the keyboard while being exhausted from vents on the sides and back.

The keyboard is unique in the sense that you get scissor switches, which increase the key travel to 1.55 mm while keeping the feedback clicky. As for the port selection, the notebook includes two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports as well as two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a Mini DisplayPort, an SD card reader, a LAN port, and an audio jack.
