[Specs and Info] ASUS ExpertBook B7 Flip (B7402F, 12th Gen Intel) – A more ordinary ExpertBook

While ASUS’s ExpertBook brand is getting into the workstation market, they haven’t forgotten what the main priority is, and that’s to offer thin and light business machines with unmatched build quality and unique features. The ExpertBook B7 Flip we have today has a portable 14-inch chassis with a convertible twist. The performance output from it should also be good, thanks to the Alder Lake P-series.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the ASUS ExpertBook B7 Flip (B7402F, 12th Gen Intel).

ASUS ExpertBook B7 Flip (B7402F, 12th Gen Intel): Full Specs

Design

ExpertBooks always come with the great build quality. The B7 Flip doesn’t surprise us with its magnesium-aluminum chassis and MIL-STD-810H certification, which consists of drop and shock tests, along with exposure to extreme hot and cold, so expect the laptop to handle daily use without a problem. In terms of looks, we see nothing groundbreaking, with a Navy finish on top of the metal. The right side of the lid can be used to house an ASUS Pen, with a magnetic attachment. The pen is optional, but in some regions, it can come included with the laptop. The laptop does come with an ErgoLift mechanism, which improves the airflow coming into the cooling setup, as well as give the keyboard a more comfortable typing angle. In terms of dimensions, the 14-inch convertible is rather light, weighing 1.48 kg and having a profile of 18.9 mm.

On the base, you can see the keyboard, with highlighted 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys, as well as the NumberPad. The NumberPad is part of the touchpad and can be activated by pressing the upper right corner of the pad. It mimics a touchpad pretty darn well and has been a mainstay in a lot of smaller Zenbook and Vivobook laptops. In terms of ports, the laptop includes two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0b port, a mini DisplayPort, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There are some optional ports, which include a SIM card tray and a SmartCard reader.

Display

The laptop has two display options, both with a 16:10 aspect ratio and IPS panels. The base configuration has a Full HD+ display that peaks at 500 nits and covers 100% of the sRGB gamut. You can also get a QHD+ display with 400 nits of peak brightness and the same 100% sRGB coverage. Both panels have glass covers and a touch layer.

Specifications and features

In terms of performance, you’ve got three Alder Lake P-series processors to choose from, including the Core i5-1240P, the Core i7-1260P, and the Core i7-1270P. All three CPUs come with 12 cores and 16 threads, while the higher 28W base power limit should be enough in terms of supplying power for this 14-inch chassis. For graphics, you’ve got the Iris Xe Graphics G7, with either 80 or 96 Execution Units, depending on if you’ve got a Core i5 and a Core i7 chip. Inside the laptop, there are two SODIMM slots for up to 64GB of DDR5 memory, as well as one M.2 PCIe x4 slot for Gen 4 drives.
