[Specs and Info] ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 OLED (M3401): an all-around great machine

The Vivobook brand is becoming bolder and bolder, offering more powerful devices that run straight into the premium creator niche. The VivoBook Pro 14 OLED that we have for today combines a premium design, with flagship hardware and an amazing 14-inch OLED display.

What was originally a brand to target the younger audience, has evolved to offer more niche laptops, which is good, but ASUS should be careful so that they don’t flood their lineup with similar notebooks that compete with each other, instead of against other manufacturers.

Today we are giving you a quick look at the ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 OLED.

ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 OLED: Full Specs

Design

With this being a premium machine you should expect premium materials. Sadly, ASUS doesn’t specify the build materials, however, we would expect the entire laptop to be made out of aluminum or other durable metal. The design of the laptop is also quite interesting, featuring minimalistic touches such as the basic boxy shape and flat lines, while the chevron pattern on the lid and keyboard spice up the exterior ever so slightly.

The branding on the lid is embossed, protruding a little bit. Lastly, we have to talk about the dimensions. The laptop is quite light and thin, measuring 1.40 kg and 19.3 mm for its weight and height, respectively. Here is the laptop in both its Quiet Blue and Cool Silver colors.

Display

The device has a single display offering: a 14-inch OLED panel with a 2.8K (2880 x 1800p) resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, which should deliver a very smooth user experience. The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, along with an infinite contrast ratio. The max brightness of 600 nits should be enough for even the brightest of conditions. As this laptop is marketed towards artists and creators, the display has 100% DCI-P3 coverage and Pantone Validation for color accuracy.

Specifications and features

Taking a quick glance at the spec sheet, and we can see that this machine means serious business. The Ryzen 5000H series has been the pinnacle of mobile processors, delivering amazing performance and power efficiency. Here you can pick between the Ryzen 5 5600H, the Ryzen 7 5800H, and the Ryzen 9 5900HX. All of these chips come with Simultaneous multithreading and have base speeds of over 3.00 GHz.

GPU-wise, we only get the RTX 3050 which has a 35W TDP, which can be increased up to 50W with Dynamic Boost. In terms of features, you get a lot of stuff, as this is a flagship ASUS product. A backlit keyboard, along with a touchpad that can become a NumPad, is part of the mix. The audio system that is inside is provided by Harman/Kardon, which will make movie watching and listening to music a great experience.
