Design

The laptop arrives with an aluminum lid and plastic chassis that maintains a relatively low weight for a 15.6-inch device with H-series CPUs. There are three colors available, with Indie Black, Neutral Grey, or Brave Green, the latter of which is easy on the eyes and suitable for an office setting. The lid has the VivoBook engraving found on all devices of the brand, while the chassis has a diamond-cut edge. In terms of weight and height, the laptop weighs in at 1.80 kg and has a profile of 18.9 mm.

Display

There are two options for the display. A more modest Full HD OLED panel with 600 nit peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Then we have a 2.8K OLED panel with a slightly lower 550 nit peak brightness, the same color coverage, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both panels have a 0.2 ms response time and come with PANTONE validation and VESA certification for accurate color representation.

Specifications and features

The laptop has the Core i5-12500H and the Core i7-12700H, both of which offer excellent performance for their class. Since there are no discrete graphics, you have the Iris Xe Graphics G7, which has proven itself as a quality iGPU with decent Creator capabilities.

On the AMD side, you can get either the Ryzen 7 6800H or the Ryzen 9 6900HX, both of which offer 8 cores and 16 threads. With them, you’re also getting the Radeon 680M, which is new and comes with better gaming performance. On the other hand, AMD iGPUs aren’t the best for Creator work.

With these processors, you need good cooling, and the setup on the VivoBook doesn’t instill a lot of hope in us. On one hand, the laptop only has a CPU to cool down, so two heat pipes and one fan might be enough.
