[Specs and Info] MSI Summit E13 Flip (A13Mx), Summit E14 Flip (A13Mx), and Summit E16 Flip (A13Vx) – The most elegant laptops you’ll ever see

The Summit laptops from MSI are some of the sleekest and best-looking devices that you can get your hands on. They’ve always been well-built while bringing quality hardware. Today we have the 2023 incarnation of the E13 Flip, E14 Flip, and E16 Flip.

All three are part of the Evo platform, which includes an Intel CPU + an Intel GPU, which are generally made for businesses and enterprise work, where security is essential. The Summit E16 Flip further comes in a non-Evo variant, which adds more power, thanks to discrete RTX Graphics.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the MSI Summit E13 Flip (A13Mx), Summit E14 Flip (A13Mx), and Summit E16 Flip (A13Vx).

Design

The Summit laptops generally come with good build quality and premium materials. While MSI doesn’t specify what the three devices are made of, we expect to see metal, a lot of metal. The designs are quite good as well and as we’ve said before, if James Bond was to walk around with a laptop, it would be one of these three. They are flexible, due to the 360-degree hinge, allowing you to enjoy them both when doing work, or when just chilling at home and popping up something to either watch or read.

Display

The 13.4-inch laptop has a Full HD+ IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Summit E14 comes with a slightly larger 14-inch display. It has a much higher resolution of 2.8K, but loses the high refresh rate, ticking at 60Hz. Lastly, the 16-inch laptop uses a 16-inch QHD+ IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. We expect high brightness, as well as wide color coverage out of all three.

Specifications and features

All three laptops are powered by the Core i7-1360P, with 12 cores and 16 threads. Furthermore, they get the Iris Xe Graphics G7 integrated GPU, while the larger Summit E16 Flip can also enjoy the company of either the RTX 4050 or RTX 4060, but the wattage that they run at isn’t specified. We’d expect lower wattages, as the E16 isn’t a gaming machine and doesn’t bring the necessary cooling components to properly take care of a 140W GPU.

The smaller Summit E13 still brings a decent port selection, with a total of two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, an HDMI port, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The E14 gets the same selection but increases the speed of its Type-A port from 5 Gbps to 10 Gbps.

Lastly, the E16 brings two Type-A 10 Gbps ports, and either two Thunderbolt 4 ports or just standard USB Type-C ports, depending on if you have a discrete GPU or not. The rest is all the same as the E14.

All three laptops have FHD webcams and IR face recognition sensors for quick and secure login. The battery sizes are good as well, with 70Wh for the E13, 72Wh for the E14, and 82Wh for the E16.
