[Specs, Info, and Prices] Lenovo Slim 7 (14″, Intel) – Thin & light but not lacking power

The Alder Lake P-series has allowed a lot of smaller devices to enjoy a fair increase in power, matching bigger 15.6-inch models from last year. One of these devices is the Lenovo Slim 7, which keeps itself agile, while providing excellent hardware, including a display that’s to die for.

For what you’re getting, it’s also well-priced, so if you’re in the market for a smaller machine that’s also able to handle some heavy work, you’re in the right place.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo Slim 7 (14″, Intel).

The Lenovo Slim 7 (14″, Intel) is available now with a starting price of $979.99.

Lenovo Slim 7 (14″, Intel): Full Specs

Design

The laptop is entirely made from aluminum, which certainly helps in creating a premium feel. The device comes in two colors, either Cloud Grey or Storm Grey. The Cloud Grey looks a lot like Silver, with the aluminum giving it quite a glow. In terms of dimensions, the Slim 7 is on the lighter side, weighing only 1.42 kg and having a profile of just 14.6 mm. Hopefully, durability is good, since the device really is very thin.

Display

The display that’s available is fantastic for all types of use, as the 2.8K OLED panel has a 90Hz refresh rate so even just scrolling around will feel extra smooth. It also reaches 400 nits of brightness, ensuring good visibility in all scenarios, including direct sunlight. The panel is excellent for Creator work, as it covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Dolby Vision support is present as well, so color depth and accuracy should be top-notch.

Specifications and features

For power, you’re relying on the Core i5-1240P and the Core i7-1260P, both with 12 cores and 16 threads. With a base wattage of 28W, they can also sustain higher clock speeds. If cooling is adequate, the chips can boost further and further. We’ve seen that with the Core i7-1280P inside the MSI Prestige 15, which is a beast and rivals the best from the higher H-series processors from both AMD and Intel. If the Slim 7 can get close to something similar, then you’re in for a treat. In terms of graphics, you rely on your iGPU, which is totally fine even for heavier workloads, as the Iris Xe Graphics have shown to be quite competent in video rendering and other types of work.

The port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The top bezel also includes an FHD Webcam with an IR sensor for face recognition.
