The new ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP412 is this year’s refresh of the VivoBook Flip 14 TP410. It’s a lightweight 14-inch 2-in-1 convertible with updated hardware. Now, you get an 8th gen Kaby Lake-Refresh CPU and a slightly altered design.

You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: https://laptopmedia.com/series/asus-vivobook-flip-14-tp412/

The specs of the VivoBook Flip 14 TP412 include either a Core i5-8250U or a Core i7-8550U. For some reason, the amount of RAM is limited to only 8GB which is plenty for light tasks but should become a minimum amount in the upcoming future. For now, the notebook is offered without a dedicated GPU but we imagine that it could potentially become available with up to an MX150. Storage is composed of only SSDs as there is no room for a 2.5-inch SSD in the thin chassis.

Speaking of thin, the VivoBook Flip 14 TP412 is just 17.6 mm (0.69″) thick which is a couple of millimeters thinner than last’s year model which was 19 mm (0.75″). The chassis is not the only thin thing about the notebook. It features a so-called NanoEdge display with extremely narrow bezels. Thanks to the slimmer top bezel, the VivoBook Flip 14 TP412 has a screen-to-body ratio of 82%  compared to 78.7% on the previous generation.

Inside the narrow frame, you can find a 14.0-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS touchscreen which supports the separately sold ASUS Pen which lets you write and draw with ease. The battery inside is a 42Wh 3-cell unit. ASUS promises 0 to 60% charge in just 49 minutes with its fast charge technology. The starting price of the VivoBook Flip 14 TP412 is $749.99.

Good competitors would be the Acer Spin 5 (SP513-52), LG Gram 14, or the Lenovo Yoga 920.
