Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 (AMD).

Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 (AMD): Full Specs

Design

The laptop is made using an amalgamation of materials. There are two combinations of materials. The first one has an aluminum lid and a magnesium base, with a plastic bottom panel. The second combination has a plastic lid and bottom panel, while the base is till magnesium. The design is akin to other ThinkPads, as it has a very industrial nature. You get the iconic ThinkPad badge in the base and the lid. Weight and height-wise, the laptop weighs only 1.46 kg, while being 17.9 mm tall.

Display

The laptop has you choosing between two 14-inch IPS displays, the first of which has a Full HD resolution, up to 500 nits of brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 99% sRGB coverage. Then there is also a 4K panel, with the same 500 nit max brightness, a higher contrast ratio of 1500:1, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Both panels should be great for color-sensitive work.

Specifications and features

Specs-wise, the laptop is powered by the Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 Pro U-series chips, with either the Ryzen 5 5650U or the Ryzen 7 5850U. Both of these CPUs have a 6/12 layout and a boost clock speed of over 4.00GHz. For the graphics, you get the integrated RX Vega units, which are solid performers. Pro series processors are optimized for professional work, with better multi-threaded performance.

When it comes to the features, the ThinkPads are full of them, as they have a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Audio support, an HD Webcam with a privacy shutter, a spill-resistant backlit keyboard, and a Mylar-surfaced touchpad with dedicated buttons.

If you test Gen 2 devices, please keep an eye out for… Read more »
