Without further ado, here is our quick overview of the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 2.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 2: Full Specs

Design

The device is carefully crafted from aluminum, glass, and magnesium. The lid uses a combination of aluminum and glass, with the glass being used for the display cover. The laptop probably uses more glass than metal for its lid, due to the fact that it has two screens. Yes, you read this correctly, there are two screens, the first is the regular laptop screen, but once you flip the device you get another one. Since this is a convertible, the screens have touch functionality, thus needing a larger degree of screen durability. The glass cover does exactly that, by minimizing scratches and providing plenty of structural strength. The body uses a combination of aluminum and magnesium, which makes it super thin while being very durable. The whole laptop weighs 1.16 kg and is just 13.9 mm tall.

Display

The display situation is really interesting since the laptop has two full-sized screens. The main one has a diagonal of 13.3 inches, comes in a 2K+ resolution, and uses an IPS panel. The display has a max brightness of 400 nits, an aspect ratio of 16:10, which is becoming the norm in the productivity laptop market, 100% sRGB coverage, and a 1200:1 aspect ratio. These specs make it very suiting for a designer or a content creator, who needs a portable on-the-go device. The second screen has a smaller diagonal of 12 inches while retaining the 2K+ resolution. The display uses an E Ink panel, meaning that the colors that it reproduces are only black, white, and varying shades of grey.

Specifications and features

The laptop has two choices for a CPU, which comes with its own iGPU, part of the Iris Xe Graphics family. The entry configuration comes with the Core i5-1130G7, while the Core i7-1160G7 is there in case you need more performance. The Iris Xe Graphics G7 (80EU) is in the Core i5, while the one on the Core i7 has a higher number of Execution Units (96, to the specific).

The laptop has passed the MIL-STD-810H military test, the TUV Rheinland Eyesafe Display test, and is Intel EVO certified. It comes bundled with a silent Bluetooth mouse and a wireless USB-C charging mat. As this is a Tiger Lake laptop, you get Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 support. As with all ThinkBook devices, this one also gets the infamous spill-resistant RGB backlit keyboard, which is also found on ThinkPads, and a glass-surface touchpad. On the side of the device, there is also a stylus pen, which has its own storage compartment in the device itself.
