ASUS ZenBook 13 OLED UM325: Full Specs / In-depth Review

4 reasons to BUY the ASUS ZenBook 13 OLED UM325

1. The Design and build quality

Once you come in contact with the ASUS ZenBook 13 OLED UM325, you notice the craftsmanship and attention to detail that is put into these devices. The whole body is made out of metal, which gives the device a very cool-to-the-touch feeling and much-needed sturdiness and rigidity. Weight and height-wise, this is a very portable device, weighing only 1.11 kg and being just 13.9mm thick. The design is great, with the usual circular finish on the lid and glossy ASUS branding.

The lid can easily be opened with a single hand and doing so lifts up the base, for a more ergonomic typing experience, and a better airflow, something that ASUS calls “Ergolift”.

2. The Display

The ASUS ZenBook 13 OLED UM325 comes with a Full HD OLED panel, which is just exceptional. The display has comfortable viewing angles and an infinite contrast ratio. The maximum brightness is also quite high. Now, for the color coverage, the screen has a 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is simply amazing and artists and designers will definitely appreciate it. The panel uses high-frequency PWM to adjust brightness, but it stops after the brightness reaches 100 nits. Thankfully, our Health-Guard profile fixes the issue.

The color accuracy isn’t as good as we would have wanted, with the panel getting a dE value of 3.5, when using our “Gaming and web design” profile. Below you can check out the results with both the factory settings (left) and with our “Gaming and web design” profile applied (right).

Lavoro in ufficio

3. The Battery life

The laptop comes with a relatively large 67Wh battery back, which lasts for 13 hours and 53 minutes of Web browsing, and 15 hours of video playback. It did so with the Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits, and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with.

4. The Features and I/O

Being a ZenBook, the device brings premium features such as support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5. The I/O is decent as well, with the left side having an HDMI 2.0b connector and two USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports. Going over to the right side, you get a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port and an audio jack.

1. The Upgradeability

Unfortunately, being a slim and small laptop, the upgradability is mostly non-existent. The RAM is soldered onto the motherboard, so you better choose your configuration well, between the either 8 and 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM. As for the storage, there is a single M.2 PCIe x4 drive, which is located just above the CPU.

If you want to upgrade the storage on the ASUS ZenBook 13 OLED UM325, but you have no idea how, feel free to watch our in-depth teardown video, which shows you all the steps of how to safely get access to the M.2 slot.
