AMD with a market share increase for the first time since 2012

AMD-Polaris-620x409The American company AMD has done a very good job examining the gaming market, and finding out two very important facts – the majority of users can’t afford to spend around $500 for a GPU, and the max resolution they are likely to use is Full HD (1920 x 1080). It is namely after discovering these facts that the company announced its latest Polaris architecture and the graphics card Radeon RX480. A bit later, the market witnessed the release of Radeon RX470 and Radeon RX 460.

Now that there’s been some time since the three Polaris models were released, AMD registers an increase of market share of GPUs and CPUs – a phenomenon that was last witnessed in 2012. This change is mostly due to the very good budget graphics cards that have no problems immersing you in the virtual world. On the other hand, NVIDIA released its high-end GPUs first (GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070), and this gave an additional opportunity to AMD to attack the majority of users. Perhaps this is why the “green” company made available on the market the direct competitor to Radeon RX 480 – GeForce GTX 1060.
