Acer Aspire F 15 (F5-572G) display profiles – Quality and Health impact results

541The budget-friendly Acer Aspire F 15 doesn’t offer the best image quality out there but it will get the job done when it comes to office work and general browsing. In the pack below, you will find the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extend.

The Acer Aspire F 15 (F5-572G) has a TN panel with exceptionally low contrast, fairly narrow sRGB coverage but doesn’t use PWM for regulating screen brightness above 55 cd/m2. However, our profiles will improve a good portion of those drawbacks and will also reduce the blue light emissions.

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package is meant for Acer Aspire F 15 (F5-572G) with 15.6″ INNOLUX N156HGE-EAB (FHD, 1920 x 1080) TN and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: Acer Aspire F 15 (F5-572G)

Office Work / Web Design

This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. That makes it suitable for Office work and, in some cases, for Web Design. However, this display doesn’t have the needed properties for color-sensitive work so we suggest looking for a laptop with an IPS panel that has a wider sRGB coverage and better contrast ratio. Anyway, we successfully bring the average DeltaE 2000 (color accuracy, lower is better) down from the whopping 11.8 to 3.9. Let’s see how that looks in the two graphs below…

Along with the color adjustments, we were also able to tweak the white point and also made some corrections on the gamma curve.

Gaming and Movie Nights

It’s probably not the best choice for multimedia and gaming but our profiles ensure slightly better visibility. Gaming and Movie Nights profile lets you see more details in the darkest areas (you can see an example here).

Health-Guard profile

As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the Blue Light impact and eliminates PWM to some extent. Since the notebook is missing PWM above 55 cd/m2 brightness, this profile still comes in handy for reducing the blue light emissions.
