Hardware and performance
As we mentioned earlier, the machine boasts a Skylake CPU, which means that we can expect a slight increase in the performance, as well as better power management. The GPU, on the other hand, AMD Radeon R5 M335 (4GB DDR3) should be powerful enough to run most modern games at low settings, even though it is a low-end unit. We expect it to perform better than NVIDIA GeForce 820M, but we can’t be certain about it until we’ve actually put it through our tests. We’ll make sure to add it to our top GPU ranking as soon as we’ve got its results.
Inspiron 5559 has 8GB of RAM out of the box – enough to provide flawless user experience when handling a couple of tasks simultaneously and dealing with multiple windows in your browser.
Display and multimedia entertainment
Continuing with the specs of Dell Inspiron 5559 (15 5000) we can’t go on without mentioning the Wave MaxxAudio speakers tgat provide excellent stereo sound and TrueLife screen with HD or FHD resolution, depending on the configuration. These two components make the machine perfect for multimedia entertainment. The combination between the two provides the comfort you desire when you’re having a movie night and shouldn’t worry about not having enough available space to store all of your collection due to the 1TB or 2TB HDD of the device.
Some models of the series even pack an Intel RealSense 3D camera, which detects the position of your face, as well as your hand gestures. This allows not only for better user experience but for countless hours of entertainment via Intel’s App Showcase applications, created especially for the RealSense 3D camera. You can browse through the aforementioned apps at Intel’s official catalog:

Battery life and portability
According to Dell, Inspiron 5559 (15 5000) should be able to survive up to 7 hours on a single charge. We’ll make sure to check on that in our upcoming in-depth review of the model, but things look good for the users, who often travel with their notebooks. The weight of the machine is only 2.32 kg, which provides additional comfort when traveling, while the powerful Wi-Fi 802.11ac module guarantees wide coverage and fast Internet connection, as long as the routers, which you’re connecting to, supports the latest connectivity options.
