Tiger Lake H is here and it’s about to get bloody. But of course, you need a laptop that comes with it in order to enjoy the fresh new 10nm performance. Alienware has answered the prayers of its fans by taking the plastic off of its new m15 R6. As you know, Alienware is the gaming brand of Dell, a company that needs no introduction. The new device comes in several configurations, all sporting RTX graphics, and Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake H processors. The display options are nothing to scoff at as well, with several high-refresh-rate panels available.

Today we are doing a quick overview of the Alienware m15 R6.

The Alienware m15 R6 will be available for the starting price of $1,299.

Alienware m15 R6: Full Specs

Design

The laptop comes in the infamous Alienware body style, which resembles an extraterrestrial exoskeleton. While build materials aren’t mentioned, we would assume that since the brand is charging top dollar, they would have done the minimum of a metal lid and a plastic body. A full metal body would be even better since it would reduce the thickness significantly. The laptop looks very stealthy, while still having the honeycomb pattern on the heat vents, which is synonymous with the brand. The weight and height sit at 2.42 kg and 22.8 mm, which are very manageable for a gaming device. Branding-wise, the Alienware logo is found only on the back of the lid and the Alienware wordmark is found on the bottom bezel, below the display.

Display

When it comes to the displays, there are a total of three choices, all of which come with an IPS panel and a diagonal of 15.6-inches. The base model is equipped with a Full HD display that has a refresh rate of 165Hz, which is pretty great for a starting option. Next is a similar panel with the same resolution, but with a bump in the refresh rate to 360Hz and 100% sRGB coverage, which is crazy. This panel will probably be the most sought after since FHD is still the standard when it comes to both gaming and design. The final panel has a resolution of 1440p, G-sync support, and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also has 100% DCI-P3 coverage, meaning that this is the one to go for if you’re a true professional and are looking to take your work to the next level.

Specifications and features

The performance that this laptop brings to the table is unknown as of now, as we have no knowledge of how powerful the new Tiger Lake H-series processors will be. Nevertheless, if we had to speculate, we expect crazy numbers in both 3D and 2D rendering, as well as gaming. There are a total of three processor choices, starting with the Core i5-11400H and ending with the Core i9-11900H. The graphics choices are a mouthful as well, with the laptop offering four GPUs to pick from. We start with the RTX 3050 TI (Laptop) and finish things off with the RTX 3080 (Laptop).

As far as features are considered, you get a choice between two keyboards. The first one is part of the Alienware mSeries and it has a key travel of 1,7mm which is on the longer side, perfect for gaming and typing, plus a four-zone RGB backlight. The second keyboard has Cherry MX switches, key travel of 1.8mm, and a per-key RGB backlight.
