Dell launches UP3218K – 8K monitor that will set you back $5000

Dell’s new monitor is up for sale. Dell UltraSharp 32 is, as the name suggests, a 32-inch (31.5-inch to be precise) monitor but what’s special about it is the resolution – 8K 7680 x 4320p. But listen here, DusplayPort 1.3 is limited to 4K@60Hz so you will need two connectors to run the native 8K resolution.

This is what Dell has to say about their new product:

Experience realistic images like never before on the award-wining, world’s first 31.5″ 8K monitor featuring Dell PremierColor

Apart from having a huge resolution, UP3218K has all the other features to call itself a high-quality monitor. The IPS panel has an average brightness of 400 cd/m2, 6ms gray-to-gray response time, excellent contrast (1300:1) and 100% Adobe RGB, sRGB, Rec709, and 98% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. All of these numbers are as the manufacturer claims – we haven’t tested it but it seems that it’s going to be a beautiful monitor suitable for both intense gaming and professional work. However, all this will set you back $4999.99.

The monitor is currently available on Dell’s website.
