HP’s Spectre 13 (2016) features a super bright and vivid IPS display

laptopWe’ve got some pretty good news about the image quality that the HP Spectre 13 produces. There are, of course, a few small drawbacks but are mostly negligible or can be fixed by installing one of our pre-calibrated profile. Let’s see this in detail.

You can find the HP Spectre 13’s various configurations here: http://amzn.to/2cnExxF

The panel is manufactured by CHI MEI with model number CMN1367 and can reach a maximum brightness of 370 cd/m2 in the middle and 338 cd/m2 is the average value across the surface. We’ve also measured 96% sRGB coverage and 1040:1 contrast ratio, both of which are excellent properties. However, the color accuracy is a bit off, especially in the upper right corner of the screen, and the color temperature (7760K) appears to be a bit colder than the usual 6500K. But that’s nothing our Office/Design work pre-calibrated profile can’t fix. The color reproduction can be easily corrected and the color temperature can be reduced do 6500K and limiting the negative blue light emissions to some extent. You can see more details in the images below.
