The new AORUS X9 – specs, features, configurations and prices

Today we are going to take a closer look at a new powerful gaming laptop – AORUS X9. Under its hood, the device sports a 7th generation Intel Core i7-7820HK which is a quad-core processor with a base clock speed of 2.90 GHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 3.90 GHz. The CPU is overclockable and GIGABYTE promises up to 15% increase. In addition, two NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPUs in SLI mode take care of the graphics performance. The memory capacity here can be up to 64GB and storagewise – up to 4000GB SSD plus up to 1000GB HDD.

You are presented with two monitor options – you can either go for a 17.3″ 4K UHD IPS panel with an Anti-Glare coating and 100% Adobe RGB or a 17.3″ QHD 120Hz TN panel with an Anti-Glare display. This gaming beast comes with an aluminum design that acquires key features of supercars and fighter jets. At the nose of the device you will spot a LED AORUS Falcon and at the other side – the AORUS HUD. The RGB HUD shows various information such as CPU/GPU temperatures, battery level, etc. In addition, you can find RGB LED accent lighting on the front and rear side and also in the AORUS RGB Fusion mechanical keyboard.

We should also mention one distinguishable feature – it has a thickness of 1.18″ at its peak despite the two GPUs that the notebook uses. The cooling solution here consists of four fans and eight heatpipes that take care of the heat from the two graphics cards, processor, as well as the chipset. The cool air comes in through the Falcon shaped vents on the base and dissipates out of the back.

This gaming beast works with Windows 10 Home operating system providing you with both powerful and smooth performance. As far as connectivity options are concerned, you are presented with Thunderbolt 3 (Type-C), USB 3.1 Type-C, three USB 3.1 ports, a mini DisplayPort, and an HDMI output. The list goes on with a single 3.5mm Headphone Out, a 3.5mm Microphone input, as well as a single SD card reader.
