ASUS Vivobook 15 (X1504): Full Specs
Design
To say that the Vivobook is good-looking would be an understatement. ASUS has clearly made it a priority to make stylish products, offering the Vivobook 15 in three distinct colors, Quiet Blue, Cool Silver, and Terra Cotta. All three look good, especially since the lid is metallic, giving it a cool touch. The lid and the base both have a chamfered edge, which is a bit glossy, further giving the device a more premium look. In terms of dimensions, the laptop weighs only 1.70 kg and has a profile of 1.79 mm, which is pretty good for a device in the mid-range category, especially when you factor in the 15.6-inch form factor.
Going down to the sides, we see that the I/O is fairly well populated. You have one UBS 2.0 port, two more USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Display
ASUS often pairs Vivobooks with good displays, but since the 15 is a more affordable version, we have a regular Full HD IPS panel. It’s got 250 nits of brightness and a normal 60Hz refresh rate. It’s not suitable for Creator work, covering around half of the sRGB color gamut.
Specifications and features
The Vivobook has three CPUs to pick from, with the Core i3-1215U, Core i5-1235U, and Core i7-1255U. The i3 has 6 cores and 8 threads, while the Core i5 and Core i7 have 10 cores and 12 threads each, along with the same cache size of 12MB. The CPUs have shown to be very efficient, while their large core counts contribute to decent performance. While Intel is quickly moving on with its 13th Gen processors, there’s still a lot of value to be had with the 12th Gen, which remains largely the same, down to using the same integrated graphics.
