How to open ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED M5406 – disassembly and upgrade options


    Opening the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED

    Hint: Ensure the laptop is powered off and unplugged before starting.

    1. Undo the 11 Torx-head screws securing the bottom panel. Note that the screw in the middle is hidden beneath a small cap, which must be carefully unglued using a flathead drill bit or similar tool.
    2. Pop the areas behind the hinges using a lever tool. Press the hinges with your finger to stabilize them before lifting the panel.
    3. Fully pry the rear and then proceed around the sides to release the bottom cover.

    Battery Removal

    Caution: Wear gloves to prevent short circuits when handling the battery.

    1. Slide upwards the small metal shroud on top of the battery connector to release it.

    3. Undo the two Phillips-head screws securing the 75Wh battery to the chassis.
    4. Gently lift and remove the battery from the laptop.
