ADATA’s first 256GB microSDXC – 3D MLC NAND flash memory

Recently, ADATA introduced its first microSDXC with 256GB capacity. The card is based on 3D MLC NAND flash memory from SK Hynix.

As you can see from the table, the UHS-II bus is rated at up to 275 MB/s read speed and up to 260 MB/s write speed. That means that it is suitable for recording 4K UHD (3840 x 2160p) and 360° videos. The microSD card is also labeled as Class 10, U3 and V90 which means that speeds can’t drop below 90 MB/s so you can even capture 8K (7680 × 4320p) video on it. The MLC (multi-level cell) flash memory technology used is the best compromise between write cycles, speed, and cost. However, due to the big capacity, we should expect a serious price tag.

We are expecting the new product to arrive at our office for testing soon. We will try to share the results with you as soon as possible.
