Intel Core i7-5950HQ is a high-end CPU released on the market on 02.06.2015. It is part of the Broadwell generation and has a base frequency of 2.9 GHz. If higher performance is needed, its four cores can be automatically overclocked, and the frequency can reach up up to: 3.7 GHz – when all cores are used; 3.7 GHz – when two cores are used; and 3.8 GHz – when only one core is used.
The chipset features 256 KB first-level cache, 1 MB second-level cache and 6 MB third-level cache. Core i7-5950HQ has been manufactured through a 14 nm process and it includes an integrated Iris Pro Graphics 6200 GPU. Its base frequency is 300 MHz which can be increased up to 1150 MHz thans to the TurboBoost technology. The power consumption of the entire SoC is 47 Watts, and its maximum operational temperature is 105 degrees Celsius.
Intel Core i7-5950HQ supports TurboBoost (it increases the base frequency when needed), HyperThreading (emulates a virtual core for each physical core), PCI Express 3.0, up to 32 GB DDR3L 1600/1866 LPDDR3 1600/1866, AVX, AVX2, FMA3, Quick Sync and SSE4 instructions.
