[Comparison] Intel Core i9-13900HX vs Core i9-12900H – The new CPU is physically better

The Core i9-13900HX quickly trampled the competition in the Top Laptop CPU Ranking, taking first place without even breaking a sweat. It’s the most powerful mobile CPU that Intel has ever released, thanks to a large increase in its core count. The HX-series processor comes with 24 cores and 32 threads as well as a higher base TDP of 55W, which will need some serious cooling to do well.

Today we’re comparing the Core i9-13900HX against the Core i9-12900H, a CPU with 10 fewer cores and 12 fewer threads, as well as 12MB less cache.

Conclusion

The Core i9-13900HX sets a new height for CPU performance, delivering incredible year-by-year performance increases. Now we have to look at AMD and what they can offer with Zen 4, which should bring the fight to Intel, as this is a totally new architecture and not just a refresh of Zen 3, although the new Ryzen 7000-series does include such SKUs as well, which is so confusing and totally another topic.
