LG is definitely up to a good start this year as the manufacturer has already revealed two new smartphone series and a flagship device. We just got our hands on one of the offerings from the new lineups – LG K10, which appears to be the top model of the K series. We’re yet to test the device and work on its full review, but for now, we’re ready to share some info from our first impressions.

The first thing you’ll notice about the K10 is its design. Even though the phone measures at 8.8 mm thickness, it feels way slimmer in the hand due to its rounded edges. Furthermore, the device features a rugged texture finish on its back and feels very pleasant. The pebble design language doesn’t attract any smudges or nasty fingerprints and helps for a better and more secure grip.

The volume rocker keys and power button are located at the back of the phone, under the camera. You’ll easily feel them since they feature different finish. The front side also looks very stylish with the 2.5D screen, which is slightly curved around the edges making it look and feel a bit more interesting. Oh, and the glass appears to be Gorilla Glass 3.

While we’re on the subject, we should note that the screen measures at 5.3-inches or in other words – it provides more working space than a 5-inch model, but it’s still comfortable and easy to hold with one hand. Anyway, the screen uses an IPS panel and has 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. Keep in mind that if you’re using the phone under direct sunlight you’ll have some issues, unless you turn up the brightness of the screen to the maximum and even then things won’t be perfectly visible.

LG K10 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 SoC, which is powerful enough to run tasks smoothly and keep the outer temperatures low even during heavy usage. However, we’re going to run our usual performance and temperature tests to check if everything’s okay. The phone also has 16GB of internal storage but you’ll only have 10.9GB available since the OS and pre-installed apps take their share. Luckily, there’s microSD memory card slot so you shouldn’t have any worries in this regard.

LG K10 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and LG’s custom UI on top and as always, we’re happy with all the visual changes and pre-installed apps and features that come with it. Last, but not least, we’d like to talk about the camera. The phone features a 13MP rear shooter and despite not having a lot of shooting modes and manual settings you will be surprised by the photo quality. You’re still able to take pictures using gestures or voice command, but those aren’t as impressive as they were back in the days.
