5” Super AMOLED display and quad-core processor

Galaxy J3 has a 5” HD display with a resolution of 1200 x 720 pixels. This makes images relatively vivid, and pixel density amounts to approximately 298ppi. Not only that but it is equipped with a Super AMOLED matrix, resulting in high contrast and color brightness, as well as wide viewing angles.

Under the hood is a Spectrum SC8830 mobile processor, which consists of four Cortex-A7 cores operating at 1.2GHz. At our disposal is also a Mali-499 video card and 1.5GB RAM. 8GB is the available internal memory, but thanks to the microSD slot it can be expanded with up to 128GB.

8MP camera and long-lasting and durable battery

The primary camera on the new Galaxy J3 is 8-megapixel and it includes f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. Of course, there is a menu with various features and settings. The device features a front 5-megapixel camera, again with f/2.2 aperture, that can also record at 720p video.

The battery of Galaxy J3 has a capacity of 2600 mAh, which is apparently enough to sustain the device if we take into account the official numbers presented by Samsung. According to those, one battery charge should be enough for up to 22 hours of talk time, up to 14 hours of watching videos, up to 11 hours of Wi-Fi surfing and up to 77 hours of listening to music.

Software capability and appealing thin body

The model comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but it is also equipped with the TouchWiz user interface by Samsung which, as always, enables some additional functionality. For instance, Easy mode can be used for simplifying the menus and maintaining easy operation of the device, as well as Ultra Power Saving mode for extending battery life. More useful pre-installed applications can be further explored.

Last but not least, we have to to note the nice appearance of Galaxy J3 -it’s just 7.9 mm thick and a weighs only 138 grams. The device is available in three color variants – black, white, and gold.
