Design

In terms of design, the laptop has two color options, either black or navy blue with white accents. Durability is the main focus of this Chromebook, with a rubberized bumper around all 4 corners, spill-resistance not only on the keyboard but for the whole chassis, as well as rubber covers on the lid and the bottom panel, which improves the grip by a lot. The rubber also hides scratches much better, which is a benefit in and of itself. As for portability, the laptop stops the scales at just 1.20 kg and has a profile of 22.4 mm, a bit thicker, but durable.

Display

Since the laptop is made for kids, safety and a low price tag are important priorities, as quality gets on the backseat. The 11.6-inch TN display has a resolution of 1366 x 768p, along with 200 nits of brightness. The panel has an anti-glare layer, which limits reflections, improving usability in direct sunlight.

Specifications and features

In terms of performance, the MediaTek MT8173c has 4 cores running at 2.10 GHz. It comes with a dedicated GPU, the Imagination PowerVR GX6250. The SoC, which combines the CPU and GPU was made all the way back in 2015, however, we still think that it can provide serviceable performance in ChromeOS and not be sluggish when browsing the web or doing any other light tasks.

The I/O is pretty good on the Chromebook, outshining a lot of laptops. You get two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, two USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
