Does the Aspire V5-591G support NVMe SSDs as boot drives?
Yeah, if bootdrive is set to gpt and in uefi mode.
Thanks for that info. Have you actually tried it though? If so which M.2 nvme ssd did you use?
Unfortunately, I haven’t tried. I’ve bought my v5-591G with HDD+SSD SATA3. My answer is based on Internet forums and official Acer site: http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/Aspire-V5-591G-53HV-SSD-upgrade/td-p/415136 . In the future I’ll buy one.
Unfortunately guys, no matter how much I tried I couldn’t make the m.2 960 Samsung Evo nvme SSD work in my v5-591g. The laptop crashed as soon as the Nvidia graphics card were installed, after every format. I read that there were incompatibility issues between the card and the nvme SSD, but people seem to have overcome it. Not me though.
The bootdrive was gpt in uefi mode.
I would propose to do the upgrade in a shop so if it doesn’t work to just return the SSD.
Hi Gus g,
Have you overcome the issue, I have the same problem. would be appreciated if share the results.

The compatibility list, http://laptopmedia.com/laptop-m-2-ngff-ssd-compatibility-list/
shows Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-591G, GTX 960M) to be “SATA III”
i can confirm from own experience that Samsung EVO 960 ssd is not compatible with ACER V5-591G. You can install windows 10 on SSD,and everything works untill the moment NVIDIA 950m Graphic card drivers are installed. From that moment BLUE SCREE all the time. So i dont recomend it. Now i am looking for alternative SSD. Some checked alternatives that are working 100% ??? Thanks.
Are you really sure this is caused by the SSD? It really doesn’t sound like an SSD problem. If it was, it wouldn’t have let you install Windows let alone boot from it at all.
i have the exact same problem. Still not sure if it’s caused by the nvidia card drivers though. Blue screen comes after a few minutes when windows are reinstalled on the samsung ssd 960 evo.
its becaus gtx 950m does not allow to go uefi bios mode so im have the same problem after 24hours trying just see this eror
its becaus gtx 950m does not allow to go on uefi mode so
does acer v5-573g support sata m2ssd?
Probably. Open up your laptop and see if there’s an M.2 slot. If so, then yes.

Does Aspire V5-561G support NvMe ssd
Hello friends, finally after 2 months of intensive research on all websites I was able to install a third generation NVMe SSD in my laptop today. My laptop model is : acer aspire v15 v5-591g76r6 Last week I tried to install a fourth generation SSD on it but it didn’t work. I ordered a third-generation 512GB NVMe SSD for 13 euros via AliExpress, which arrived today. Last week I also successfully installed two 16Gb DDR4 PC3200 RAM modules in my laptop. It is important to note that the use of third generation PCIe Express is significant for the SSD. With…
