[Comparison] Intel Core i3-1115G4 vs AMD Ryzen 5 4500U – The AMD processors dominated throughout all of our tests and benchmarks

Tiger Lake has been one of the few glimmers of hope that Intel has had at its disposal, and they are doing everything in their power to make it as successful as possible and to reclaim the throne that they have once sat in as the best processor company in the world.

Their newest addition, the Intel Core i3-1115G4 is a CPU that offers great performance considering the price that you’re paying for it and it looks like it might be one of the best low-end laptop processors, which is ideal for students and most consumers out there that don’t demand crazy numbers or speeds.

Today we are comparing the Intel Core i3-1115G4 against the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, to see how big is the gap between the two.

Here is our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, where you can check out how these CPUs stack up against other processors.

CPU benchmark

We witnessed utter destruction and the victim here was the Core i3-1115G4. The Ryzen 5 4500U dominated the Cinebench 15 test, being 82% better, and as for the Photoshop benchmark, here the Ryzen has a lead of three and a half seconds. The scores were expected, though, as the Ryzen 5 is leagues ahead, in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, and it has more cores, threads, and cache.

GPU benchmark

Continuing with the GPU benchmarks, the Radeon RX Vega 6, showed up and performed up to expectations, scoring 54% higher in 3DMark Fire Strike, 58% higher in Unigine Heaven 4.0, and 45% higher in Unigine Superposition. As for the real-life gaming tests, where the AMD iGPU was 71% better on average in CS:GO and 49% better on average in DOTA 2.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, we all knew what was going to happen in this comparison, as there is no way that this Core i3 could ever compete against the Ryzen 5. It was better across CPU, GPU, and gaming tests. However, the Core i3 still showed great numbers and we are impressed with its performance. We think it is ideal for a low-end device and consumers will be more than happy with it.
