Regardless if you pick an H-series or a U-series CPU, good battery life was a part of the deal. However, in 2022, things look a bit different. Intel has upgraded big time, utilizing a hybrid architecture with their 12th Gen CPU family. Today we take one of the higher models inside the Alder Lake U-series range, the Core i7-1255U, and put it against one of the better budget U-series CPUs from last year, the Ryzen 5 5600U.

The Intel CPU offers decent performance advantages, however, the Ryzen 5 5600U comes in at a decently lower price, so if it’s the value you’re looking after, you might want to consider the AMD chip as well. If you want to dabble in Creator work as well, the Intel CPU will be better, since its iGPU has much more productivity capabilities.
