[Specs and Info] Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro & Yoga Slim 7 Pro – Class and power are key components

Today we have two laptops that are one and the same, despite bearing different names. Both of them don’t compromise when it comes to performance, while also being as portable and as lightweight as possible.

The devices that we have in mind are the IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro and the Yoga Slim 7 Pro from Lenovo. Now, we guess that Lenovo sells one device under two names, for unknown reasons, unless in some areas of the world the Yoga name is more recognizable than the IdeaPad name. For us, it doesn’t make a lot of sense, as we always judge a device for what it is and don’t let branding get to our heads.

Today we are giving you a quick look at the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro and the Yoga Slim 7 Pro.

Design

The devices share the same design. They are built entirely out of aluminum alloy, which gives them the necessary level of structural rigidity. The laptops look really minimal with their round corners and sharp edges on the lid and the base. The only visible branding is the small Lenovo badge/wordmark that you can see on the upper left corner of the lid and the bottom right corner on the base. In terms of dimensions, they both weigh 2.08 kg and have a profile of 17.99 mm.

Display

The display that is used here has a 16-inch diagonal, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a QHD+ resolution. Furthermore, the max brightness is capped at 500 nits, and the contrast ratio sits at 1200:1. In terms of if you’ll be able to use the laptop for color-sensitive work, and according to Lenovo’s spec sheet, you would. The display comes with 100% sRGB coverage, along with DisplayHDR 400 support.

Specifications and features

Lenovo doesn’t give you a lot of options when it comes to hardware, but we feel like what they do offer is enough. There are two CPUs to choose from: either the Ryzen 5 5600H or the Ryzen 7 5800H, with a 6/12 or an 8/16 configuration, respectively. They have enough cores and decent base clock speeds, which should ensure good and stable performance even if the laptop doesn’t bring the best cooling.

Graphics-wise, there is the integrated RX Vega 7 GPU, along with the GTX 1650 and the RTX 3050 Ti. Depending on what you want to do with the laptop, you can choose a different GPU. In terms of features, you get a backlit keyboard, a dual-array microphone, and a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.
