The Strix G15 might come with a higher price point, but you are getting a lot of value for the money you’re paying. Advantage Edition laptops offer both a full AMD combo of CPU and GPU, with the configuration that’s offered now sporting a Ryzen 9 5980HX, an 8-core, 16-thread CPU with a boost clock speed of nearly 5.00GHz. While the Ryzen 5000-series came out in 2021, the performance and efficiency that it has is still something to write home about.
Paired with the RX 6800M mobile graphics card, you’ll bring pretty much any game to its knees, as it’s the most powerful AMD laptop graphics that was offered at the time. The QHD display is also superb for gaming, with a swift 165Hz refresh rate. It’s not only for gaming though, as the high color coverage (100% DCI-P3) provides punchy and sharp colors that any designer will love to work with. 🥈 HP Victus 15 (15-fb0000) – #2
The HP Victus laptops are HP’s most affordable gaming options. The early models were quite good, despite the boundy plastic lid, as you still received a pretty screen that was even able to be used for color work. However, the combo that we have here is the 2022 version, with a Core i5-12500H and an RTX 3050, which is a good budget combo for gamers and those who need performance. The display seems to be the IPS model, which is better, as we’ve tested the TN version, and you really ought to skip it.
Still, it’s not confirmed, however, the description does say a 178°-viewing angle, which is usually a sign that we’re working with an IPS panel. The design is also very sleek, so if just in need of a powerful machine that doesn’t scream “GAMER”, the Victus 15 presents a very good value proposition.

🥇 ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX517 – #1
We really love the TUF Dash series from ASUS and honestly, it’s quite sad that ASUS decided to discontinue it for 2023. What we got instead is the TUF A16, a thinner, all-AMD Gaming laptop. Now, to go back to the Dash F15, it weighs just 2.00 kg, while packing a 10-core Core i7-12650H and an RTX 3070. While the 3070 isn’t the most powerful one, running at 105W at peak TDP, it will still crush any game on the 15.6-inch 144Hz FHD display.
The whole package is also quite slim, at just 19.9 mm. With all of that and the stealthy chassis, which features an aluminum lid, you get a great gaming laptop that can also handle plenty of other heavy calculations and workloads. In case you want to stand out, go after the White and Black variant, which we’ve dubbed “The Stormtrooper”. Overall, it’s a great device if you can find it at a good price, as the CPU and GPU combo here can even be used for higher-res gaming on a discrete monitor, while the laptop is light enough to carry around and not be e burden on your back.

The TUF - F15 was ... wait, the TUF Dash F15 was a very solid laptop last year. However, it was hindered by its 35W CPU. In fact, we are pretty sure that a lot of manufacturers were really deceived by Intel's promises.
